What are the rules at a manta cleaning station?
Manta Sandy is managed and patrols enforce the code. Your guide briefs it before descent:
- No touching. Contact strips the protective mucus from a manta’s skin.
- No chasing. Let the manta approach you. Swimming after one drives it off the station.
- Stay off the station. Groups are positioned to the side of the cleaning area, not on top of it.
- Stay low and still. Kneel or hover behind the marked area and keep bubbles out of the manta’s path.
- Follow your guide’s call on time and position. When several boats share the site, guides rotate groups.
Which certification do you need for each manta site?
